Welcome to CHIC-ipedia
Hey there, my name is Mila and I am a gen-z actor, model and content creator born in Los Angeles, CA. I considered titling this blog post “Introducing Me” but as soon as my brain registered those words I began to (uncontrollably) replay the Camp Rock song in my head over and over and over again and decided that I wouldn’t curse you with that same fate. It’s funny how a word or the simplest sensorial experience can trigger our mental floodgates to release a slew of memories that were once MIA. Sometimes it leads to profound realization or just utter nostalgia and you never really know what can happen when you look back on the past.
That being said, I’ll instead use the title as a means to joke about the amount of times I’ve launched (and ghosted) this blog. Now that I think about it, I realize that I must retract my past boasting statements about how I’ve never ghosted anyone before. Because, well, ghosting this blog means that I ghosted you. Numerous times. For that, I deeply apologize.
The Revival
But hey, I’m coming back with a bang. You’ll never believe the turn of events that led to the revival of my beloved CHIC-ipedia. I have a tendency to go on tangents so today I’ll practice being more efficient with my words:
Actors Strike. Writers Strike. Joint Strike. First Joint Strike Since 1960. All Film and Television Productions Shut Down. I’m an actor. Yikes. ?
The First Joint Actors and Writers Strike Since 1960
With Hollywood experiencing another form of mass shutdown, I came to the realization that I haven’t been doing anything fulfilling beyond my work. Being an actor has been my passion since I was eight years old, however, I lost sight of the things that I really enjoy doing aside from that. When I was in elementary school and high school we often filled out “fun fact” sheets on the first day of class. Under hobbies, I always put “acting” and “modeling.” If I were to receive a “fun fact” sheet now, I would have no idea what to put under “things I do for fun.” Now that my hobbies are my work there’s a gap that needs to be filled.
Finding Excitement Beyond My Work
It took me three solid days to figure out what currently tickles my fancy outside of being an actor and it wasn’t until I was editing my website that I finally remembered. Blogging. I have so many stories that I’ve yearned to share but Instagram often feels oversaturated and writing another book would be too long of a turnaround due to my bad habit of attempting perfection. So my brain came in clutch and proceeded to remind me that I did in fact used to blog in the yonder years. And the mere thought of it made my heart flutter with excitement.
I’m really excited to re-introduce a space where I can chat at length about things that make my world go ’round in hopes that you can find value from it.

Removing Social Media From My Routine
I’ve used social media as an outlet for my long-winded rants before but it didn’t feel like the right space to spend even more of my day in. It’s bad enough that I already use a ridiculous degree of brain power to incessantly scroll into the neverending chasm that is social media. It actually feels criminal to force that same fate upon others who dare to read one of my book-worthy captions. So that’s out.
Yesterday, I actually had a great conversation with one of my best friends about the harmful effects of consuming too much media. She proceeded to explain how she refuses to keep TikTok on her phone in order to live in the moment more. I was immediately overwhelmed with self-consciousness. Since we last spoke, I have probably forwarded no less than 100 TikToks to her inbox naively awaiting her reply. I couldn’t help but chuckle as I envisioned her (potential) reaction to her iPhone shutting down because of its inability to process the hundreds of notifications waiting for her once she’s lured into downloading the app again.
Recognizing Bad Habits Is Good, Right?
When I got off my super empowering bestie call, I clearly experienced a temporary memory lapse because the first thing I did was open my TikTok only to find myself cackling at a video that depicted two friends coming together to create a “human pony” whilst dancing to the “My Little Pony” theme song. Don’t knock it until you’ve seen it.
What’s that saying? You can lead a horse to water but…
whatever, I can’t remember rest.
One Of My Favorite Distractions, Currently
**BTW, is anyone else currently binging The Summer I Turned Pretty? This show is one of the only reasons why I’ll willingly walk into an emotional rollercoaster where I’m guaranteed to end up sobbing with a throbbing headache. If you could see my face right now, you would notice how I’m on the verge of going into full-fledged rant mode. If we do that, you might be here ’til next Friday. Of which I’ll be busy watching the new episode preparing for my next round of anguish. So again, I’m sparing you. For nowwww.
With that, welcome to CHIC-ipedia! It’s wild, goofy ride here.
Very happy to be back. Thanks for reading & talk soon.
xoxo,
Mila Fox
